Glossary

Words that begin to mean something only after the chapter that names them. Browse here when a chapter mentions something you've half-forgotten.

The Stone: A black stone of unnatural weight, sought across Terindale.
Alric: The last king of Terindale: the one who laid aside his crown and replaced monarchy with the Covenant.
Mysterious Markings: A triskele: three curved lines spiraling from a central point, etched cleanly into stone or metal wherever it appears.
Lordsman: A regional authority figure under the Covenant. Each settled town has its Lordsman; villagers appeal to him when something exceeds local trouble.
